Dear Colleague

Fife Council is currently recruiting Beach Lifeguard staff to work from June until the 31st August 2010. The rate of pay shall be £7.11 per hour per hour. Working at Aberdour, Burntisland, St Andrews, Elie and Leven beaches, duties include patrolling of foreshore, litter patrol, initiating rescue procedures for bathers in difficulty, administering first aid and maintenance of toilet blocks. A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification, experience of dealing with the public and the ability to swim 400metres in under 8 minutes is essential. You must be willing to gain the National Beach Lifeguard Qualification for which training will be provided. Hours are variable and up to 35 hrs per week and include weekend working. Before an appointment can be confirmed you will be subject to a Scottish Criminal Records Enhanced Disclosure Check and a mandatory Health Assessment.
