Information about the 6th of March 2010 - West Sands, St. Andrews, Fife

A day devoted to tricks, spins and big air! St. Andrews offers to freestylers relatively clean winds in all directions and lots of solid hard packed sand to go alongside.

Competitions will be run loosely throughout the day between 11am and 3pm weather dependant.

First it will be a 'freeride' session from 11am to 1pm in which buggiers and boarders can ride in a relaxed atmosphere, wearing a coloured armband to identify themself, at 1pm riders will be gathered together to vote for the biggest air, best style and best trick prizes for both buggy and board.

And secondly, depending on interest, there will be both buggy, and board freestyle competitions, where everyone will have 3mins during their heat to perform, with prizes being awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This will be run bewteen 1pm and 3pm.

The cost for entry to freestyle is £Free! So come along at 10.45am and put your name down! All you need is valid 3rd party insurance.

I'll probably be there to watch for a bit.

If there's not much turnout, can I borrow a board to compete for the "most epic fail" award?  Wink

There's always the El Cheapo hostel.  Many a happy creaky night I have spent there (though not for a while now I think on it)
No curfew but the kitchen is locked overnight so no drunk people can burn the place down, and no kiters can get an early breakfast.

Actual B&B's are likely to be pricey, remember this is St Andrews we're talking about.

Get them to let you in after the warden has gone for the night (about 10pm I think), and sleep on the couch.
As long as you get up and hide the evidence before the warden comes back in the morning they'll never know.  Even if they do, what's the worst that'll happen?  You'll have to pay £14.  (don't quote me on this though lol)

Surprised no locals are offering you their couch tbh.  Hint hint.   Roll Eyes

The 'warden' is I think a couple (well there are 2 of them) and they live upstairs in the hostel, although they always get up late on sundays so you can't check out in good time if the tide is early.
